In this exciting one-year course you’ll develop several entry-level management skills covering business and finance, event and facility management.

We recommend that you add additional qualifications like the National Diploma: Sport Management so that you can enhance your employment prospects and target jobs in the business of sport such as an event manager, sport management consultant, club manager, spa manager, recreation manager, team manager, sport manager, sport marketing manager nationally and internationally or run your own private practice. If you add additional specialisations to your course, you can offer your clients’ more options and enhance your employment prospects.


This is a national qualification registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

The Sport Management learning programme provides a balance of theory learning, practical training and work-based experiential learning to prepare graduates for work in the exciting field of sport and sport management. Graduates are able to work in schools, clubs or private institutions with a range of skills which include business management, sports event management, facility management and team management. With the inclusion of modules such as screening for physical activity readiness, graduates are also able to work in the fitness industry. Through the eta process of personalised teaching and exposure to plenty of physical activity and sport, students are able to successfully achieve their assessment criteria.

Course Outcomes:
• Promote principles of good governance in sport organisations and structures to support operational sustainability.
• Organise and establish sport organisation or structure in order to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Maintain operations in a sport organisation or structure.
• Plan, coordinate and implement sport tournaments and / or events.
